Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In his first session, Remi focused on further developing his skill 'place' working on decreasing the size of the object he is sent to. We focused on this skill to challenge Remi with his understanding of this skill. The trainer began with a towel folded in half and slowly continued to fold the towel until it was small. Remi performed very well, he quickly went to the towel with little guidance from his trainer. While on the towel he had great duration and distance. The trainer was very impressed with Remi during this session. We suggest continuing to practise this skill with a range of objects at home. Focus: Obedience B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his second session, Remi focused on learning the basics of his new skill 'skateboard'. We focused on this skill to build his confidence around new and moving objects. To start training this skill we began using a fitness step to lure Remi into the correct position. Remi happily followed a lure, placing his two front feet and one back foot onto the step. Remi completed multiple repetitions of this exercise to ensure he has a good understanding of the desired position before introducing the skateboard. This would be a fun skill to practise at home to build engagement, have fun and increase his confidence. Next time we aim to introduce the skateboard. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his final session, Remi focused on further developing his skill 'drop' with repetitions under distractions. We focused on this skill as the trainers have noticed Remi has been struggling with his drops recently. Remi performed very well, he initially broke drop once when the trainer began to take a step back. With some guidance he quickly began to maintain it well. He successfully remained in drop while the trainer bounced balls around him. Focus: Foundation B
