|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For Remis first session we worked on his drop skill in the kennels. This is a good skill to put him into a controlled position around dog distractions. Remi was a little superstar and smashed his drops like normal. At times he only sat but if you gave him a second he would go into his drop. As it was very loud in the kennels and was probably a-bit stressful for him he was given this second to perform his skill. Remi did break his drop once but other than that did amazing. He even dropped next to two dogs who were reacting and showed amazing engagement. The next step for Remi will be to continue counter conditioning his reactivity by using his obedience skills.||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For Remis second session we worked on his loose lead in the cattery with cat and dog distractions. This is a good obedience skill to again expose Remi to dogs. When we first entered the cattery Remi barked at one of the cats so we continued to walk past her. Remi did amazing after that one little bark and didn’t react again. He had a dog on one side and a cat on the other and all his engagement remained on the trainer. There were only a few times he pulled however he quickly turned as soon as he felt the slightest bit of pressure.||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Middle Position||Comment: For Remis last session we worked on his middles skill. This is a good skill as it allows Remi to be in a safe and controlled position. Remi was so good at his middles today and we progressed to him dropping when you drop your right leg. To begin with Remi was told to drop as the trainer lowered her right leg and stand when she stood up, a lure was used aswell. However towards the end the trainer was already able to start fading out the lure and with just some simple encouragement Remi was able to drop and stand as the trainer did. The next step for Remi will be to continue fading out the lure.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
