Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: for her first session today she was worked on her middles skill. She worked with a male trainer today and worked really well for them, she was eager to get to work when they Collected her from the pet resort accomodation she was easy to focus her energy into the training. Todays sessions focus was on phasing out the initially lure we have been using to get her to go through the legs and instead using a single lure to get her through the legs, turned around and into a sit. You can see in her social video today the moment she progressed from the great being tossed to following the single lure and this was a great way to finish the first session and set her up for success for the rest of the day. Focus: Conditioning C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For her second session today the trainer worked on her drop skill with a focus on duration building. She has a fairly good understanding of the skill and the verbal command so getting her into a drop was relatively easy. However keeping her there was a challenge. To really help her the trainer has started pairing rewarding for this skill with Remi’a release word, pairing the top skills will allow Remi to figure out that she must stay in her drop until told otherwise from the trainer and in turn this will help increase her duration. She did really well with this today proving that she is starting to understand she has to stay down until told otherwise, however getting close to the end of the session she got super tired and stopped doing work for a bit, she seemed bored so the trainer quickly engaged her again with a little play session and this brought her right back to finish the session out strong! Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For her last session today the trainer worked on her “bye bye” skill. Since she is doing this at home she has got the basics down pact and so the trainer was able to start pushing the skill a bit more. The goal of todays session was to get her to wave multiple times before being rewarded, this was relatively easy to do with Remi as she really enjoys doing this skill, the more the dog enjoys the actual training process the quicker they will pick up a skill, she finished on an amazing 4-5 waves in a row before being taken back to rest for the rest of the day, Remi was amazing today and we can’t wait to have her back again soon! Focus: Conditioning C
