|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For Poppy’s first session today we worked on her drop skill with dog distractions. We had her drop while another dog was practicing it’s loose lead walking around her. She did pretty good with this although was much more fixated on the other dog than the trainer. To work on this we can increase the distance between dogs making sure she is focused on the trainer and then slowly decrease the space. Saying that, she wasn’t breaking position at all and stayed in a drop.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For Poppy’s second session today we worked on her orbit skill. She was super distracted in the classroom today and struggled to focus on the trainer. To keep this session interesting we worked on her drop skill alongside the orbit skill. She has improved so much with this skill, we were able to lure her around 3/4 of the way this time. Despite her being quite distracted she still performed the skill quite well! This just needs practice at home but her progress is coming along nicely.||Focus: Repetition||B|
|Skill learnt: Middle Position||Comment: For Poppy’s last session today we worked on her middles skill with the treat and train machine. This involved working her middles skill and as soon as she was in position we pressed the button and she received a treat. We had the machine close to the trainer so she didn’t have to break position to receive the reward. She did amazing at this and she absolutely loves doing middles! To work on this we could work on distance and getting her to run further to get to the trainers legs!||Focus: Repetition||B|
