|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Poppy and her trainer made the most of the beautiful weather so spent their sessions outside at the Pony Club Oval. We started wirh loose lead from the kennels and the trainer was very happy with her engagement, focus and behaviour on lead. We passed lots of other dogs in training and was proud that she did not react towards any of them even within a closer distance. At the oval we worked on redirecting her focus from horsey smells on lead and did some walk behind as well. Poppy was distracted but regained focus quickly.||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Recall||Comment: We made the most of the distracting smells so worked on Poppy's recall from a normal lead length. Poppy did well with this woth low distractions but if her nose caught something good it was harder to get her engagement. Working on her responding to her name (looking at you) will assist with her recalls and engagement. Overall her recalls are great, she ran straight up to the trainer, sat and waited to be released.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: The trainer had planned to do sit pretty on different surfaces but Poppy was a little too distracted and struggled with holding herself up in the skill. We revisited luring of the skill in the distracting environment to rebuild her understanding of the skill and duration.||Focus: Foundation||C|
We recommend your next step should be…

B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
