Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In his first session, Poppy was initially overwhelmed by the classroom environment. The trainer focused on building her confidence and conditioning her to the new environment, people and dogs. As the session progressed, she began to take treats and settle into the classroom. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In her second session, Poppy focused on further developing her skill place within the classroom around multiple dogs. Poppy was initially distracted by the environment and struggled to engage, as the session progressed, she began to redirect her focus onto the trainer. When engaged she follows a lure onto the bed well but struggles with duration. She required a high reinforcement schedule (treat every 5 seconds) to remain on place. Keep practicing this skill at home, focusing on duration. Focus: Foundation C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In her final session, Poppy focused on further developing her skill drop within the classroom. Poppy required a lure under the trainer’s knee to go into the drop position. As the session progressed this was slowly faded to an independent lure. She does struggle with duration when in drop but is progressing well. Focus: Foundation C+
