|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: In her first session, Poppy focused on further developing her skill heel, working on building focus once in position. We focused on this skill to build her focus and understanding of this heel. Poppy follows a lure well into the heel position, but quickly loses focus and gets distracted. The trainer used a lure to help maintain her focus, this worked well, her engagement improved and she began to progress well. We recommend practising this skill under low distractions to help maintain her focus.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: In her second session, Poppy focused on further developing her skill wagon pull. We focused on this skill to continue challenging her problem-solving skills and further her understanding of this trick. Poppy performed well, she quickly interacts with the rope, picking it up. As she was performing well with this the trainer stopped rewarding this behaviour to encourage her to try a different behaviour to further progress the skill. Poppy became a little frustrated and began to grab the rope and pull harder, making the wagon move. This is good progress and she was rewarded.||Focus: Foundation||B+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: In her final session, Poppy focused on learning the new skill of basketball. We focused on this skill to challenge her problem-solving skills. Poppy performed well, she quickly interacted with the ball, touching it with her nose, rolling it and kicking it across the room. With some help from the trainer, she began to pick up the ball. It helped Poppy when the trainer was holding the ball to start and then holding on to the ground to ensure she didn't roll it away. We would recommend practising this skill at home.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
