Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In her first session, Poppy focused on further developing his skill 'paws up' on individual pods. Poppy was very distracted during this session, she struggled to engage with her trainer and follow a lure. As the session progressed she slowly began to redirect her focus and follow a lure onto the pods. Once engaged she performed well, she can struggle to place both paws on different pods but with patients she figured it out quickly. Focus: Foundation D+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In her second session, Poppy focused on building engagement with her trainer using a variety of engagement games, including recall, catch treats and rewarding eye contact. Using these methods Poppy quickly began to engage with her trainer and perform food recalls (from short distance). Focus: Conditioning C
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In her final session, Poppy focused on further developing her skill 'drop' under high distractions. Poppy was challenged with remaining in drop under high distractions. As well as asking Poppy to drop when playing tug. Poppy performed well, she initially struggled to drop when playing, but a the session progressed she began to perform well. Focus: Distraction B
