Poppy's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: (HEEL) For her first session the trainer worked on her Heel skill! They noticed yesterday during her session that she keeps inside the box great but needed a bit more work on when to take off from the sit and looking up at the trainer. The trainer helped with her gaze today by holding something high value (a toy they charged up with poppy at the start of the session) and stuck it in their under arm as they walked! This encouraged her to look up at the trainer and she was rewarded accordingly. To help with when to take off with the trainer they have been starting to teach her if they walk with their left foot (the one closest to her) she can move off with the trainer but if the trainer moves off with their right foot she has to stay in her sit! She smashed this today! Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: (Around circuit) For her second session today the trainer did something new with poppy but working with some of her known skills! The trainer has started working on a “around” circuit with poppy where the end product is going to have the trainer stand in between two cones pointing at each one and asking her to go around and come back on quick succession, mix this in with some loose lead walking and some extra tricks like spin or middles and this can be an awesome little circuit! To start the trainer is helping her by moving towards each cone just to set her up for success but she is already catching on fast! Focus: Foundation C+
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: For her last session the trainer did a little more of her around circuit but wanted to make sure they finished on a big positive and so once she did the circuit really fast the trainer ended the training there. They then took her to the confidence course for some more time trials! The trainer is happy to report Poppy now holds the fastest time around the course powering through with a 9.6 second run! Helping her through the little house and getting her nice and energetic before timing the run helped with this today and she is at the current moment of writing this post the fastest dog on the course! Focus: Repetition A
