Poppy was such a good girl today! Had good listening and was very well behaved.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Today Poppy began with her ‘bow’ skill. She is still using a lure to get into the position. Once the treat was gone Poppy would often break the position without being released, so our focus today was on her duration and helping her stay there until her release word was used. She gradually got better towards the end of her session, but the trainer still was not able to remove the hand with the treat without her breaking. Keep up the great work at home, we would like for Poppy to be able to remain in the position while we begin to fade the lure.||Focus: Duration||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Next up, Poppy revisited her ‘orbit’ skill. She is still just getting the hang of walking backwards behind the trainer. She does it well if there are objects blocking her from walking straight back and she then curves her walk, which is what we want! But if the trainer were to take away the object, Poppy would go back to walking straight back, so we are going to continue with blocking her path behind her and slowly start to fade them away. Awesome efforts, Poppy!||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: To finish off, Poppy practiced her ‘sit’ and ‘drop’ skills outside whilst walking. At first she would still drop when the trainer asked for a sit, but with the help of her non-reward marker she realised what she was doing wrong and listened properly for the remainder of her session. Keep on switching it up between the two to ensure she is listening properly. Loved your work today Poppy!!||Focus: Distraction||A|
