Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In her first session, Poppy focused on learning the new skill ‘place’ within the classroom environment. We focused on this skill to begin building her impulse control and conditioning the reward marker ‘yes’. Poppy performed very well, she walked onto the bed quickly but struggled to hold duration. As the session progressed, she began to slowly build her time on the bed before released with ‘break’. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In her second session, Poppy focused on learning the new skill ‘drop’ within the classroom (two dogs training within the classroom). We focused on this skill to build her impulse control around rushing though doors, jumping, etc. Poppy performed very well; she follows the lure into drop very well. While in drop she holds duration for several seconds then breaks. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In her final session, Poppy focused on learning about door manners, we focused on this skill as she can rush though doors. Poppy performed very well, she initially struggled to remain calm but with some guidance (asking for a controlled position such as sit) she began to wait patiently. Focus: Obedience B+
