|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For Pippies first session we worked on her sit pretty skill. This skill is good as it helps to build muscle strength and concentration. Pippy did really well in this session and was able to hold her sit pretty for 15seconds by the end of it. To begin with a food lure was used to get pippy into this position but she quickly picked up what was being asked and the food lure was faded out. Once Pippy was performing the skill when asked we worked on her duration but giving constant treat while in the position. The next step for Pippy will be to continue increasing or duration for sit pretty.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Crate Training||Comment: For Pippies second session we worked on her crate conditioning. This is an important skill as it helps them settle/relax around distractions. Pippy did really well to settle into the crate with dog, people and sound distractions. The next step for Pippy will be to increase her distractions.||Focus: Conditioning||A+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For Pippies last session we worked on her around skill which consisted of her going around a cone and back onto place. This skill is good as it can be used for impulse control once she understands it better. To begin with Pippy didn’t understand the skill so a lure was used to help her go around the cone. After multiple repetitions the trainer asked Pippy to do around without using a lure and while she didn’t do it straight away, she eventually worked out what was being asked and then performed around multiple times without a lure. The next step for Pippy will be to continue working on around without a lure.||Focus: Foundation||B+|
