Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Pippa’s first session today was all about getting her used to the new trainer. She was a bit hesitant to approach the trainer so we started out just throwing treats to her and letting her approach us. By the middle of the session we had the gate open a little bit to encourage her to come forward. She eventually came to the trainer and allowed us to put the lead over her head. Once we got her all ready we just took her for an explore around the place to her relax! Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Her second session was focused on place training in the classroom with distractions. She did so well in this session and got really excited to see all the trainers. We kept the session interesting and sent her to and from the bed repetitively. Pippa did so well for this session and even had great duration. The only thing she broke position for was when a new trainer entered the room and she wanted to go say hi! Keep pushing her place skill as it’s a good way for her to learn some impulse control. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For her last session today Pippa worked on her loose lead walking and engagement outside. We utilised the driveway to go up and down, if she started to pull ahead we would turn and go the other way. This showed her that she can’t get to what she wants by pulling. Pippa did really well with this, although she wasn’t taking treats for this session we were able to get some really good engagement from her. We also practiced her sits and drops randomly while outside to and she also did those very well. Focus: Distraction B
