Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In her first session, Pippa focused on conditioning a new trainer while also building engagement. Pippa was initially reactive towards the trainer, she was also creating space by moving away. Within a few minutes, Pippa was approaching the trainer to investigate. Shortly after Pippa had gained confidence and was approaching the trainer for pats and cuddles. To further condition the trainer and build engagement the trainer took Pippa into a playpen. While here we focused on recall and play. These two skills helped encourage Pippy to return to the trainer, therefore building engagement and confidence. Pippa enjoyed this session, she loves to play and had fun. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Play Comment: In her second session, Pippa focused on further developing her skill place and drop using play and toys as her motivation. We focused on these skills to begin incorporating obedience into her play. Pippa was excited to greet the trainer when arriving for her second session. In this session, she performed well, with encouragement from her trainer she walked onto the place (raised bed). Once on the bed, the trainer released her into play. After several repetitions, the trainer began working on her drops. When engaged Pippa responds well to the verbal cue drop but can struggle to hold duration. Similarly to her place when in drop she was released with play. Focus: Obedience C+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In her final session, Pippa focused on further developing her skill loose lead and building confidence around the pet retreat facility. Pippa was initially nervous around the different objects around the facility, however, with some guidance and encouragement, she began to interact with them. Focus: Confidence B
