|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: First up for Piper was loose lead walking and like Bailey she was a little excited at first. But once she settled down into the session she did a great job. At times she pulled but the trainer changed directions and this worked to get Piper to focus back on the trainer! Very impressed with this session. She did a great job.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Next up was drops. Although there were a number of dogs in the classroom today Piper did well. Although at times she was slow to get into the position her focus was very much on the trainer. Given Piper was doing quite well the trainer started to work on emergency drops. As the trainer told Piper to drop and took a step forward Piper was reluctant to drop. Keeping treats in hand to help lure Piper helped and the trainer was able to take half a step after telling Piper to drop. Work on this at home by getting Piper to drop and keep your forward momentum going. But don’t travel to far forward to soon and use that yes marker to help Piper understand.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Last up for Piper was ring the bell. It took a few minutes for Piper to remember what she needed to do. The trainer helped Piper by pointing and tapping the bell. Once Piper was consistent with hitting the bell with her paw the trainer started to move the bell around nearby so that Piper had to really think about what she needed to do. She was very eager for this skill and it was great to see her brain ticking over. Awesome work Miss Piper.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
