Pickle's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his first session today we worked on his ‘hold’ skill. To do this we used a rope ring and tried two methods, the first one we held it in front of him and the second we put in on the ground in front of him. Both methods he started to mouth the ring but he wouldn’t hold onto it. To combat this we held back rewards until he was holding it for a second or two longer than usual. He got quite frustrated with this but he eventually held it for three/four seconds. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For Pickles second session today we focused on his skill ‘bow’. We were able to lure him into position and he held his bum in the air but sometimes he would go into a complete drop. To avoid this the trainer had their foot underneath his belly to prevent him dropping right to the floor. Once he was in position we could stand up, remove our foot and dispense treats to him before releasing him. He did great with this skill today! Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his last session today we practiced his bubble blowing skill. To begin with he was just bobbing his nose in the water so we withheld treats and he quickly figured out to hold his nose in the water longer. He began blowing bubbles while holding his nose in the water but every now and then he would test it and just dunk his nose quickly, he wouldn’t receive a reward for these attempts. By the end of the session we had 4 successful attempts and we were able to end it there. Focus: Repetition B
