Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his first session today the trainer contained testing him on his duration and wanted to see if he remembered his training from the other day. Of course Pickle being the champion he is remembered it all and while due to the heat the trainer didn’t work him outside they also tested him on his “skate” skill another way today. Covering the classroom floor with toys and food Pickle had to shred the gnar past these tasty distractions today. The training the other day definitely helped with this as he only broke off a few times to start with however after being given some helpful reminders from the trainer he was quick to ride the board all the way past the distractions and hitting the back wall again! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his second session the trainer wanted to break up his skills as he had been doing quite a bit of skateboard recently and the trainer was very happy with where he is at with this skill. So they did something he hadn’t done in a while and went over the basics of “hoop” with him. This being a hot day the trainer did want to make him work too hard and so only increased the height a little bit at a time however Pickle was successfully able to quickly increase the height to a point where he was making small jumps through the hoop. Focus: Back to Basics B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his last session today the trainer worked on some more “parkour” with Pickle. Again like his hoop session the trainer took the heat into consideration and so didn’t have Pickle moving too quickly but rather continued to condition him to the criteria of the skill, that being that all 4 paws must be touching the board at some point as he passes over the inclined board, as successfully does this the trainer will increase the speed at which he does it until he start jumping up onto the board and jumping off again. The heat started to get to him closer to the end of the session so the trainer switched it up. To finish out the trainer did a little more work on his selfie skill, this time testing him on distractions by pulling weird faces and making strange noises as they took the photos, as you can see from the uploaded photos he did quiet well in sitting still. Focus: Foundation C+
