Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Pickle began his day with his ‘bow’ skill, working on his duration as he has a bit of a habit of going into a drop before being released. He did super well!! Pickle was able to hold this position for approximately 6-7 seconds before the trainer released him, which is good!! Towards the end he would start to just drop again, but with this use of his non-reward marker “ah ah”, he would stand up and the trainer would try again. Keep practicing this, he knows the skill, just likes to test you sometimes! Focus: Duration A
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For Pickle’s next session, he worked on his ‘peekaboo’ trick again, focusing on walking backwards and forwards, but also curving. Pickle did really, really well and managed to walk in between the trainers legs until he was released, yay! He also did really well with walking in a circle both forwards, and back. He was much more confident and quicker in the forward motion, but he still performed beautifully for his backward motion. Awesome work Pickle Pants! Focus: Duration A
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: To finish off Pickle’s day, he worked on his ‘hold’ skill, using both a rope and a fake plastic bone. Pickle will hold the object if the trainer was also holding it, but he struggled to keep holding it once they let go, he would then drop it after a second. The trainer continued to try and build his duration with this skill, but Pickle became frustrated and would fling the object away. The trainer then switched to his ‘roll over’ skill for the last couple minutes, just to end on a nice, fun note and he did so well with them! Focus: Duration B+
