Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his first session today we worked on his bubble blowing skill. He did really well with this today, we focused more on duration this session. Getting him to hold his nose under for longer rather than quick dips. After a few attempts of him quickly dipping his nose and receiving no rewards he held it for longer and got his reward. He has shown great progress in this skill and is certainly increasing his duration with the bubble blowing. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his second session today we worked on his bow. We were able to lure him into position, reward, move hand away, reward, stand up, reward and release. He is getting better with his duration however he still goes into a drop sometimes if left for a fraction too long. To combat this we only rewarded two/three times and then released him, that way there is less chance of him folding right into a drop! Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his last session we worked some more on his hold skill. We used a plastic toy for this today, by holding it in front of him he figured out very quickly to mouth it. Since he has been working on this for a little while we pushed him more for duration today. He improved a little bit with this but he would keep mouthing, biting/letting go instead of just holding it. For now duration is the main thing to work on and eventually, with duration he should become less mouthy. Since his last hold session he has shown some progress, he is definitely grasping the task and won’t take long! Focus: Repetition C+
