Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his first session Phoenix focused on further developing his skill drop in a high distracting environment. Phoenix was initially excited and struggled to engage with the trainer and respond to the drop command. As the session progressed, he began to redirect his focus and perform well. He successfully dropped around multiple dogs in the classroom. The trainer also decided to recreate and old video of Phoenix, where he successfully drops while the trainer is in a handstand. Phoenix did not skip a beat, even when his trainer is upside down. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his second session Phoenix focused on learning the new skill skateboard, within the classroom. We focused on this skill to challenge him with a challenging trick on a moving object. The trainer began by luring Phoenix onto the skateboard while stationary, practising him moving into the correct position. Phoenix performed well with this after several repetitions he was interacting with the skateboard with minimal lure. Focus: Foundation C
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his final session, Phoenix focused on continuing to develop his skill skateboard in the classroom. As he progressed well in his last season, the trainer completed several repetitions of paws up on the skateboard. As he was performing so well the trainer began to move the skateboard. The first time Phoenix was initially startled, however as the session progressed, he become more confident. Focus: Repetition A+
