Parker's Doggy Dayschool Report

2023-08-31

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Parker showed some good understanding of the drop position but really struggled to hold the position when the trainer took a small step backwards. To help Parker out we did lots of quick repetitions then would throw in a slightly longer one. Throughout the session Parker improved and even held it when the trainer took a large step backwards (then quickly released). We want to start building duration and distance in the skill so we can use it for more real life scenarios! Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We practiced this with some dog distractions around us. Parker didn't seem overly bothered by them which was great! We were able to do lots of quick repetitions and some longer duration holds too! This is a great skill to build up distance with as well, we can have them on place while you do things around the house, teaching Parker that they don't have to be right next to you all the time!Parker did break position a couple times when the trainer did some quick movement distractions so we made sure to start slow and build back up! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: This last session we worked on Paws Up! This skill is great for building confidence and is just a little bit of fun. Parker was initially hesitant to put his feet on the pod, but with lots of luring and encouragement he finally did it! Once he put just one foot on the pod we made sure to mark "yes" then reward. From there we challenged him a bit more until he got both feet on the pod! He did so well and seemed to really enjoy this! Focus: Foundation B

We recommend your next step should be…
