Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Oreo’s first session was loose lead walking. This was done in the top car park and Oreo really struggled with focus so the trainer played an engagement game with Oreo and he soon started engaging with the trainer more. Loose led started again and Oreo was much more focused. By the end of the session he was checking in with the trainer more and completely ignored other people on the way to the classroom. Fantastic session. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next session for Oreo was drops. He wasn’t going to do them from standing. So the trainer used the under the leg method. It took a little bit but Oreo did start to get in position this way. As the session progressed he only needed to put his head under the trainers leg and he would drop. Awesome progress. Keep practicing at home as the goal is to get him dropping with a verbal cue. Focus: Repetition C
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Final session for Oreo was place. This was done outside where John and Scott were working. Oreo at first was very distracted and randomly would go off place. During the session both Scott and John came near the place bed but the trainer used the yes marker and Oreo held place. By the end of the session Oreo was very engaged with the trainer and breaking place less. Another great session. Focus: Distraction C+
