Opal's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Opal’s first session was loose lead walking and conditioning to the horse. At first she didn’t get to close but slowly came forward. But then she barked a bit. So the trainer put distance between the two again and rewarded Opal for not reacting when she looked at the horse. By the end of the session Opal was able to not worry about the horse at all. It was great. Focus: Desensitisation B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up for Opal was a game of red light green light. This is where the trainer revved Opal up and then got her to drop. As soon as she dropped the trainer released Opal and started the game again. The biggest problem was trying to rev Opal up. But when she was excited she still listened and dropped when told. A really good drop skill is going to help with Opal listening even when excited and will enable you to be able to take the yummy dead stuff away from her!! Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: The trainer decided, for Opal’s final session for the week, to teach Opal a trick. Ring the bell. Opal really had to think and work hard to figure out what she needed to do to get those treats. By the end of the session Opal was starting to make the connection between putting her paw on the bell and getting a treat! It was fantastic to see her thinking about it all. Focus: Repetition C
