Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: First session Ollie started to learn place. Place will be an amazing skill to help with his settling around dogs both at home and whilst out and about. Ollie picked this up well holding his duration for a few seconds at a time. We began conditioning him to his release word “break”, as he is lives in the same home as Kobe who already has a release word of break did you want Ollie to have a different release word like free or something of your choice? Keep working on his place skill at home building up his duration. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Ollies second session we worked on his drop skill, this is another skill that can help redirect unwanted behaviours and help with manners. Ollie shows some understanding of this skill but can be quick to pop up, with repetition we were able to begin building up his duration. Keep working on this at home before adding extra distractions. Focus: Foundation C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Ollies final session we worked on his loose lead. Today we went back to basics working in the classroom, luring Ollie to walk by the trainers side on the left and rewarding when he followed direction change. Any time he began to pull ahead we stopped and turned the other way. Each time he looked at us we rewarded to help build his engagement. Keep working on his leash skills a home starting in low distractions (in the home/back yard) before adding higher distractions. Focus: Back to Basics C+

We recommend your next step should be…
