Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Ollie’s first session was duration on place. Although he broke a couple of times he was pretty good with this. Half way through the session the trainer moved to drop to see how Ollie’s duration was with that. He broke numerous times with this so the trainer worked with Ollie to help increase his duration. Next time it would be good to see Ollie have better duration with his drops. Ollie also was put on passive place to help with duration. While other dogs were being trained Ollie did a great job of staying on place. Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Pull a rope bell was Ollie’s second session. As this was a new skill for Ollie he really had to work hard to figure out what was required of him. By the end of the session he was starting to touch the rope with his nose. Next time the trainer we would like to see him start to grab it with his mouth. But it was a good start and it was great to see Ollie really thinking about what he needed to do. Focus: Repetition D
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: The last session for Ollie was loose lead walking. Although he was a bit distracted at first, with the trainer changing direction when that happened Ollie settled well. Going forward it would be good to see Ollie settle straight up. Something to work towards. All of Ollie’s sessions have been around other dogs and he did a great job of ignoring them. Focus: Distraction C
