| Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) | Comment: We spent this session just outside the classroom, working on his loose lead. Ollie was quite distracted at the start of the session but did improve throughout. We did lots of directional changes to keep him focused on our movement, marking “yes” and rewarding for any engagement. We also threw in some random drops and sits to keep him switched on! | Focus: Distraction | B |
| Skill learnt: Middle Position | Comment: We worked on his middles skill, really refining it! Ollie is definitely getting the hang of this but was still sitting a bit too far back, causing the trainer to move backwards. Ideally we want him to come forward enough so that when he sits down he doesn’t push the trainer backwards. To help him out we just lured him further forward then into the sit. He did improve but lots of repetition will be important to really nail it! | Focus: Repetition | B+ |
| Skill learnt: Drop/ Down | Comment: Lastly we had some fun outside, practicing his drops with some play in between repetitions. Ollie was super engaged this session so we made sure to keep it fun and really reward that engagement. We did lots of quick repetitions running around and playing with him in between each one (quite the workout haha). Ollie seemed to really enjoy this, as did the trainer! This is a great way to build his impulse control and listening skills. | Focus: Distraction | A |
