Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down | Comment: Ollie began his day practicing his ‘emergency drop’ skill outside with another dog distraction. At first Ollie was initially distracted, but after a few repetitions he performed really well! Again towards the end of the session he started to get a bit cheeky again. Make sure you use his non-reward marker and make him try again. He is a clever boy, just likes to test us! | Focus: Distraction | B |
Skill learnt: Trick Training | Comment: Next up, Ollie worked on his ‘bow’ trick, focusing on building his duration. He did really well! Ollie follows a lure into this position beautifully and started to remain there until released, which is awesome! Keep pushing him with this skill at home. Once he understands it more we can begin to balance things on his bum! | Focus: Duration | B |
Skill learnt: Trick Training | Comment: To finish the day, Ollie worked on his ‘around’ skill, focusing on the foundations still as he does tend to get confused sometimes. He follows a lure nicely but needs work on understanding when he goes back to place, he needs all 4 paws on! He would often get 3 on and look at the trainer wondering why he hasn’t received his treato. Work on that at home and let us know how you go. Good work today, Ollie! | Focus: Foundation | B |
