|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Ollie’s first session today was focused on his drops in the classroom. We collected him from the kennels and practiced his door manners at every door/gate we approached. We asked for him to sit and then released him once the door was open. He struggled a little bit to start with as he was very excited but eventually got the idea. When we got to the classroom we practiced his drops with some trainer distraction. We made sure to use a verbal and visual cue so he completely understood as the environment was quite distracting with two other dogs training at the same time. We did test his knowledge a little and tried with just a verbal cue and he did really well. While he was in a drop we would step back, jump, walk around him and even sit right in front of him. Keep working on this but he has shown great progress!||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Ollie’s second session was focused on loose lead walking outside. He did really well, although he did pull in front a couple times when we changed directions and encouraged him to follow he did. Any time he checked in with the trainer we would reward him. By the end of the session Ollie was following the trainer really well and had awesome engagement. We were able to do this in the cattery and outside with all the different smells and people distractions. Keep practicing this, he is showing great improvement.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: His last session today was all about his place skill in the cattery. We had the raised bed in the middle of cattery and would walk around and then send him to it. We practiced this the entire session. We also practiced his place skill with trainer distractions the trainer would send him to place and then walk away for a few metres. He is doing really well with this, the obedience class has 100% helped him out! In between each session today Ollie was kept in a crate and he settled really well. We kept the crate covered so it was nice and cozy for him.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
