Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Oil’s first session was drops in the kitchen. This was great distractions for him due to the food smells and dogs and people going passed. At first he kept popping up as soon as he got in the position. But using the uh-uh, because Oli does know he can’t pop straight back up, meant before long Oli was holding position much better. As the session progressed Oli did break a few times but he did really well! Going forward trainers will keep introducing different distractions. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Second session for Oli was place. The trainer started in the classroom and Oli did break a few times. Once he was remembering what he needed to do the trainer took Oli up to near the yards where barking dogs were. Oli broke once and after that although he looked at the other dogs he didn’t break! Awesome work Oli. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Final session for Oli was recalls. He did a fantastic job. At first he was a little distracted but before long he was coming when called great. A few times the fresh animal poo got him and he wasn’t inclined to come when called the. But with a little leash pressure he did have to leave the smells! A distraction that the trainers will continue to work on with him! Focus: Distraction B+
