|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Recall||Comment: In oli’s first session we trained recalls, we did this inside as outside was going to be to distracting for him with all the cars and people going past, with this skill I would throw some fritz in front of me once he got it call his name, then when he is nearly at your feet say ‘come’ then reward him. Don’t say ‘come’ when he’s a meter in front of you because he still has that chance of running past you. He did do pretty well with this we did have dogs in the crate so he did get distracted by them but other then that he did great.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: In his second session we trained place with distractions, we first had another dog on place but the other dog couldn’t be quite and was to distracting for him. So we just kept training place, it’s hard to do dog distractions when there is only one trainer on, so I hope next time once he’s in we will have two trainers on so I can train him around the other dog being trained. Other then that his place skill was pretty good, did break a few times but other then that was great.||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: In oli’s last session we trained drop with duration, I think the classroom is a big distraction for him we trained outside in the car park and it was to distracting for him so we went back into the classroom. Towards the end he started to settle, and stoped breaking when not asked. In his next level I’d like to work on this still seeing if we can build on the distractions slowly.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
