Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Nala began her day just being conditioned to the classroom environment again as there were a couple excitable doggos she needed to adjust to. She took treats initially, but after a few minutes she spat them back out at the trainer. Nala accepted lots of pets and cuddles during this session while she began to relax around the new dogs. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Next up, Nala worked on her ‘place training’, focusing on going to and from, just building the foundation. She does really well going onto place, just needs some work on her duration! So definitely start to build that at home, this can be done by frequent treat rewards and to release her say “break” and throw a treat off the place bed to follow. A very dog reactive dog entered the room barking and Nala remained on place so long as the trainer was sat on the floor next to her, which is awesome! Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Nala finished off by practicing her ‘paws up’ skill to help build her confidence. She did really well! She was able to get her front 2 paws on with the use of a treat lure and half way through decided it is just a good place to chill, haha! It is amazing to see her confidence grow while being here, so keep up the awesome work at home with this skill and use different objects to challenge her! Her day ended with a confidence walk around the facility to end on the best note possible. Super proud of your little girl today! Focus: Confidence B
