|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)
|Comment: For our first session of the day, Murphy worked on her loose lead walking in a high level distracting environment. She demonstrated amazing engagement with the trainer and responded well to rewards. Murphy was occasionally distracted by other trainers walking past and various smells outside, but overall has a nice loose lead structure. Keep up the great work and continue to build distractions to further challenge her skills.
|Skill learnt: Recall
|Comment: In our second session with Murphy, we practiced her recall. She has a good recall on verbal cue, ending in a front facing position. We practiced on a short and long lead, before practicing off lead in the playpen. This increased the distance and level of distractions to push Murphy in her skills. She was occasionally hesitant due to the distractions, but was able to recall every time. Keep practicing!
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down
|Comment: Our final session for the day focused on Murphy’s ability to settle around high level distractions through her drop skill. She demonstrated the skill on a verbal cue and held a good duration. Murphy settles into the position well, but is occasionally distracted and breaks without cue. This may be due to a new trainer and environment. Practice her drop and place skills in various different environments to build her settling ability.
