Murphy did well today, putting a bit of team each lesson into his treat manners. Murphy has been doing better with this, nipping his trainer's hands less each time he takes a treat.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Recall
|Comment: Murphy started his day working on his engagement with his recall skill. We used treats and some high energy to get Murphy to keep his attention on us throughout the lesson. Murphy kept his focus completely on his trainer throughout the lesson, coming back every time for a treat. After some repetition we put Murphy on a long lead to test him in the skill, with Murphy wondering off to investigate a smell periodically although coming back to his trainer quickly.
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)
|Comment: Murphy worked on his loose lead in the classroom, focusing on distractions. We used a mixture of toys and food that we walked around to distract Murphy, focusing on getting him to engage throughout the lesson and ignore the distractions all around us. Murphy did well ignoring the toys, but having a more challenging time ignoring the food on the ground. After some repetition we got Murphy to start ignoring the food on the ground to focus on the food in our hands.
|Skill learnt: Targeting (touch)
|Comment: We finished with a bit of targeting practice, with Murphy touching a wooden spoon with his nose. Murphy started trying to chomp the spoon but after a bit of repetition, Murphy started to understand he had to poke it with his nose to get the treat. By the end of the lesson, murphy as consistently touching it with his nose, giving it a munch every now and then but understanding what was being asked of him.
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
