|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Place Training
|Comment: Murphys first session we worked on her bed skill focusing on her settling and increasing distance, duration and distractions. Today we worked in the cattery and used a towel as her “bed”. Murphy did so well this session the trainer did a few repetitions and by the end of the session they were able to drop the lead and move around the Cattery and Murphy held her position even when the trainer was out of sight. She did break off before her release a couple of times but overall did soooo well and was so calm even with the cats and rabbits in condos nearby.
|Skill learnt: Recall
|Comment: In Murphys second session we worked on her recall. Like her first session we worked in the cattery, starting first with a long line and recalling her past cats/rabbits in condos and being able to increase the distance thanks to the long line. At the end of the session the trainer tested Murphys skill by putting her in a drop, letting go of the lead, moving to the other side of the Cattery and then recalling her. Murphy did well coming to the trainer, even when they were out of sight. Only a couple of times she got distracted and began trailing off but quickly tracked back to her trainer
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)
|Comment: Murphys final session we worked on some loose lead, today we worked in the classroom around another dog and people. Murphy was a bit cheeky and distracted in this session as she hadn’t seen these people before. We worked on her engagement and went back to basics helping her focus around new people. She improved throughout the session and began to ignore the external distractions and engaged well with her trainer.
We recommend your next step should be…

B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
