|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For Molly’s first session today we worked on her drop durations outside. She was very distracted at the start of the session and wasn’t very engaged with the trainer. We were able to get her into a drop but she would be looking every which way and not at the trainer. To combat this we moved to the grassed area where we couldn’t see any people or dogs. She did a little bit better here and the trainer was able to move around her without her breaking position.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Targeting (touch)||Comment: For Molly’s second session today we worked on her touch skill. She was quite nervous since there was quite a few dogs training in the classroom at the same time. But she would go into her drop position and then crawl to touch the touch stick. We progressed to getting her to touch the stick quicker and quicker but she was still quite nervous. She seems to love this skill and shows lots of interest so this is good to help her focus on the skill rather than what’s going on around her.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For Molly’s last session today we worked her in the cattery doing some loose lead and drops. She was highly distracted for loose lead and wasn’t engaged. She would do her drops and hold them but she still wasn’t focused on the trainer. We moved back into the classroom to do some place training. She was still quite distracted because mum was in the room but she stayed on place and even settled into a drop. When mum left the room she was very unsettled and tried to follow but after guiding her back on she stayed and eventually settled down.||Focus: Repetition||A+|
