Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Mojo In his first session we did lose lead outside with this skill I picked up the pace abit because he is pretty good at it towards the end he was slowing down. Mojo did really well with this skill his engagement with me as a trainer was incredible. Next session for mojo I would like to work on this more while we do have long in training. Training this at home is as easy as having him on the lead have him walking by your side if he goes to pull walk the other way everytime he looks up at you reward with the word “yes” and treats. Focus: Duration B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Second session we trained drops, slowly decreasing the lures and practicing duration. This skill will help when taking him for a walk and either want him in a controlled position when other dogs are around. Mojo has improved so much with his drops, towards the end I could nearly stand all the way up still doing the lure but not all the way to the floor. Next session I would still to work on this skill until we can stand all up straight. Training this at home having him on the lead, start with lure his nose with food try not do it al the way to the floor, if he’s doing well with that slowly decreasing the lures and with no food, if he breaks from his drop say “nah ah” and pull his lead to the floor. Focus: Distance B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Mojo’s last session we trained place this session we concentrated on decreasing the lures and distance from ‘place’. Mojo did really well in this session first I was luring with food then towards the end of his session I decreased the lures and wasn’t using food. Next session keep practicing this decreasing the lures while still using the word “place”. Training this skill using his bed as “place” send him to place lure with food, if he does well with that point to the bed while saying “place” once he is on place say “yes” and reward with treats. Focus: Distance B
