Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Mojo’s first session was drops in the kennels. By working in the kennels it had a another layer of distraction for Mojo. Today he had the dog distraction plus staff working also. Mojo did struggle and didn’t want to get in the drop position at first. Then he wasn’t wanting to hold position. As the session progressed Mojo did much better and was holding drop for longer under distraction. Next time it would be good to see Mojo drop and hold position straight away in the session. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: The second session for Mojo was loose lead. As Mojo is generally good with his walking around the main areas of the property the trainer took him to the back of the kennels. He did struggle at the back of the kennels and wasn’t focused on the trainer. Changing directions and using the yes marker helped Mojo to refocus and walk much better around the other dogs. The goal for next time is to have Mojo focus on the trainer when around those dog distractions. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Mojo’s final session was paws up. He already had a good grasp of this skill so the trainer continued on with this after a quick refresher. Mojo was comfortable with paws up on on the step but when it came to a smaller object he really did struggle despite the offer of treats! The trainer will continue this next time to encourage Mojo to paws up on smaller objects. Focus: Repetition C+
