|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his first session today Mojo worked on his confidence with paws up on the skateboard. He did really well today and went straight into paws up with no hesitation. We started with no movement and slowly built up to rolling the board slowly, encouraging him to move his back legs. He jumped off the first time we introduced movement but he went back on and we moved it a bit slower. He would stretch his back legs as far as he could and then he would start to make little steps. He showed some good progress with his paws up confidence and was able to do a couple steps with his back legs with slow controlled movement of the board. To work on this further just keep moving the board in a controlled manner and reward him any time he moves his back legs!||Focus: Confidence||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his second session today we worked on his hold skill with the quoits ring. We presented the ring in front of him and waited for him to show a behaviour. As soon as it was placed in front of him he started to nibble it straight away. This is a great start, this behaviour is one step ahead of Freya’s and will be easy to shape into him holding the ring in his mouth. We started off rewarding any attempt that he made but towards the middle/end of the session we would only reward for attempts where the ring went further into his mouth. He seemed very hesitant to have the ring right in his mouth so we made sure to jackpot any time it went further in! Keep practicing this and reward for attempts that get closer to the end result.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For his last session today we worked on his confidence with the place skill. To start with he was very hesitant to go onto the raised bed. We placed lots of treats on the bed and just waited for him to go on by himself. He didn’t do it eventually but his footing was very unsure and he moved very slowly. After he ate all the treats we released him and then lured him back onto the bed. He was a little quicker to follow the treat back on but still very unsure of the surface. We repeated this for the entire session and by the end he seemed much happier and was less hesitant to step on. Keep practicing this at home with his paws up skill and place skill to really help him overcome this fear!||Focus: Confidence||B|
