Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: For Mojos first session we worked on his paws up skill. This is a good skill to build Mojos confidence. Mojo did really well stepping up onto the inflatable pod and the hard shell but really struggled with the balance board. The trainer found that Mojo was more scared of the board and was running away if the board moved. Therefore we worked on conditioning him to the board by simply getting him to eat treats off of it. Mojo really struggled and even when the board was covered in treats he didn’t want to go near it. Mojo eventually worked up the courage and ate off the edge of the board however still left all the treats in the middle. The next step for Mojo will be to continue conditioning him to the movement of the wobble board. Focus: Confidence X
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For Mojos second session we worked on his place skill. This is a good skill for Mojos confidence as he struggles with stepping up onto the bed. Mojo took about 30 seconds to step up onto the bed to begin with, which is a big improvement from his last place session. While he still needed a lot of encouragement he took less than half the time from his last session. Mojo did amazing after the first time he stepped up onto the bed and was able to be sent to place without any hesitation getting onto the bed. The next step for Mojo will be to continue working on his place getting him to step onto the bed first time without heaps of encouragement. Focus: Confidence B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For Mojos last session we worked on his skateboard skill. This is a good skill for building confidence. Mojo did so well today! To begin with we just worked on getting Mojo to step onto the skateboard however we mainly focused on conditioning him to it moving. We slowly added in the movement ensuring not to freak him out and by the end he remained on the skateboard while the trainer moved it back and forwards. Mojo even started to move his back legs to move with the skateboard towards the end. The next step will be to continue building confidence with the skateboard moving. Focus: Confidence X
