"Miss Piggy"

Our feedback
Miss Piggy is such a sweet girl who loves her cuddles and training, she performed very well today with all of her skills. She showed no signs of reactivity when in a controlled position (place), however when in the crate she did begin to react, but after some conditioning she overcame this very well. Keep up the great work at home.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
Skill learnt: Place Training | Comment: In her first session, Piggy focused on further developing her skill 'place' with repetitions under distraction (two dogs training within the classroom). We focused on this skill to help improve her decision making as part of her canine reactivity. Miss Piggy performed very well, she showed a good basic understanding of place and showed no visible signs of reactivity. She successfully remained on place despite the trainer walking around the classroom. We suggest continuing to practice this skill at home. | Focus: Distraction | B |
Skill learnt: Crate Training | Comment: In her second session, Miss piggy focused on settling within the crate while around other dogs. Initially when in the crate Miss Piggy would react to dogs when they were in a close proximity to her crate, to help her settle and relax within the crate the trainer used conditioning. Miss Piggy performed well, the trainer used this opportunity to further condition her reward marker 'yes'. Miss Piggy showed no signs of reactivity throughout this session, despite multiple dogs walking past. The trainer used high value treats and a high reinforcement schedule (treat every 10 seconds), to help condition the other dogs. | Focus: Conditioning | B |
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down | Comment: In her final session, Miss Piggy focused on further developing her skill 'drop' with repetitions. We focused on this skill to help improve her decision making as part of her canine reactivity. Miss Piggy struggled to go into drop, the trainer used a variety of different techniques to encourage her to drop, including luring her under the trainer’s leg. Miss Piggy successfully dropped several times throughout this session. We suggest focusing on this skill at home. | Focus: Foundation | C+ |
