Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: In Millie’s first session we started of with paws up. First we did this skill on a big step as she did struggle with the smaller object, after we practiced on the big step we when then progressed to a tub, she did take awhile to find her feet but after awhile she did really well. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Millie’s second session we trained the skill place. We had another dog that was in a crate that she could see so that was her distraction today and it did distract her. We were practicing her duration on the skill every now and then she would bark at the dog I would reward her if she looked at the dog and didn’t bark but if she barked I would say ‘agh ahh’ she did well towards the end focusing on me and her duration got a lot better. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Her last session we trained ‘center’ which is middles. We practiced ‘center’ normally first then we started walking. She progressed really well with walking in middles at the start she would just walk off but if you hold the lure right at her nose and reward as you take a few steps she will do fantastic. She did struggle to walk backwards though, but even I did as I’m only short. She progressed really well towards the end. Next time we will practice walking backwards. Focus: Distraction A
