Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
Skill learnt: Play | Comment: First session Miley worked on some drops and send to place in the classroom. As we had an empty class room we took this opportunity to work on this while the trainer wasn’t holding the lead. We also had some higher energy play in between repetitions. Miley had a ball doing this and responded to her skills with the verbal cue only occasionally needing a verbal reminder. | Focus: Obedience | B |
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) | Comment: Mileys second session we worked on her loose lead. Today we worked outside the kennels to really work on her dog distractions. Miley did quite well in this environment, she walked with the trainer only slightly pulling ahead but followed direction change anytime the trainer changed direction. She did lack engagement but still happily did what was asked of her. She only barked at other dogs once in the session when they were quite high energy barking in their runs but overall she did quite well! | Focus: Distraction | B |
Skill learnt: Recall | Comment: Mileys final session we headed outside onto the grass for some fun and recall practice. Initially Miley was a bit distracted initially and sniffing around but quickly settled after asking for some sits. We worked on her recall with another dog being trained nearby. For the first part of the session she was a bit slow to recall and trotted past the trainer so to help her out we used treats to lure her into a sit. By the end of the session Miley was speedily coming into her recall and finishing in a sit. | Focus: Distraction | C+ |
