|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Mila’s first session was place. This was done outside near the office. The van was being loaded with dogs for a hydro trip. This was a great opportunity for Mila to practice place under big distractions and she did a fantastic job she ignored the other dogs for the most part, although did break a couple of times near the start of the session from trainer movement. The trainer used the Uhuh word and lead her back to place. By the end of the session Mila was happy to lie down on place and ignore the other dogs. Awesome work.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Next up was drop again. Mila is still struggling at times with this. She is at times slow to get into position or will just sit. The trainer did multiple repetitions to help Mila think about what she needed to do. She did progress and then the trainer worked on duration the trainer is nearly able to walk all around Mila without her breaking. Once she is position Mila is doing great. It is the getting her there that needs more repetitions!||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Last session was a focus on loose lead in the training yard. Mila was very distracted by the animal poo smells and the cats going by. The trainer worked in the small area again and changed direction frequently. Although not as engaged as she could be, Mila progressed well to not pulling which was fantastic. However it would be good to she her at least check in with her handler at times during walking. Next time the trainer will add in some engagement games to help remind Mila that the person on the end of the lead has good treats and it pays to check in!||Focus: Distraction||C+|
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
