Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Mila’s first session was place outside with dog distraction as well as birds and flies! Mila did a great job. She did break a few times but the trainer upped the reward marker and by the end of the session Mila was lying down in place. The next goal is to do this closer to the kennels with a higher distraction. But awesome work Miss Mila. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up was drop. Mila still struggles with duration, her keeping in the drop position. So the trainer focused on this. Using an increased reward marker Mila did start to hold position better. However the flies are her biggest distraction and she breaks very easily for them. Keep practicing at home with low distractions so It reinforces the drop for her. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Mila’s final session was loose lead walking. The trainer took her outside and although Mila started off very distracted by the other dogs in the kennels she did settle very well. The trainer only walked her around the car park and when Mila did pull the trainer changed direction and worked on getting Mila’s focus back. The next goal will be walking Mila well on the grassed area. The grass always has more distraction so it will be a good test for her. Focus: Distraction C+
