|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: The day was started with a fun trick for Maverick. This was the hanky pull skill. Maverick struggles with a flat hanky so to help him out the trainer tied a knot at the end where he was able to grab easily and tugged on it. After a few repetitions he was enthusiastically pulling the hanky from the trainers hand.||Focus: Repetition||A|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Maverick is very excited in the classroom therefore this session focused on him relaxing and encouraging him to settle within a distracting environment. He did very well with the trainer next to him but broke a few times when the trainer added distance (or when he thought no one was watching). He is definitely starting to challenge this skill to see what he can and can't get away with.||Focus: Distance||B|
|Skill learnt: Desensitisation||Comment: Mavericks last session was outside where they worked on his engagement with loose lead. They did a few minutes of this when he noticed the cats in the outdoor cattery by the house. He did not pull towards them but the trainer used this opportunity to work on his impulse control around them. When approaching the trainer had to turn around a few times to redirect his attention but overall he dropped whencommanded, was focused and responded to his name around the crazy cats. Superb job buddy!||Focus: Conditioning||A|
