Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his first session, Mav focused on further developing his skill loose lead. We focused on this skill to build his engagement before introducing his recall. Mav was initially distracted during this session, however as the session progressed he began to show more engagement. Once engaged the trainer incorporated mini recalls, in the low distracting environments he performed well. However, as the distractions increased he began to struggle. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his second session, Mav focused on further developing his loose lead and recall within the cattery, while another dog was nearby. Maverick performed amazingly, he showed great engagement and ignored all distractions. The trainer was very impressed with his engagement and performance during this session. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: In his final session, Mav focused on further developing his skill paws up within the classroom. Maverick performed well, he followed a lure quickly to place both paws on two separate pods. After several repetitions, the trainer was able to reduce the lure. For the second half of this session, the trainer focused on further developing Mavericks drop with outside distractions. Mav was initially distracted and struggled to respond to the verbal cue drop. But with some guidance began to perform well. Focus: Foundation B
