Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Mav’s first session was focused on his ‘recall’ skill outside on a long line. Mav did really well and had great engagement and focus on the trainer throughout this session. He came exactly when called, followed by a beautiful sit in front of the trainers feet. Remember to always be the MOST exciting thing to him when out and about. Make lots of noises, crouch down, anything to get his attention onto you. Keep up the great work! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Next up, Mav worked on his ‘loose lead’ walking in the cattery with those kitty distractions as it was raining outside. Mav again did really well, he had great focus on the trainer, even when another dog next door in the classroom was barking his head off. You are doing really well at home with this, keep it up! Remember, if he starts to lack engagement, go back to basics and reward him more frequently!! Brilliant work, Mav! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: To finish off, Mav worked on his ‘middles’ skill, focusing on increasing the distance. Mav did superb!! He was able to perform the skill from across the classroom! Did not get distracted by anything, toys, dogs, the whole lot! Super proud of Mav’s efforts today!! Keep up the awesome work at home and keep testing him with these distractions! Focus: Distance A
