|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: The trainer worked on Mavericks engagement when performing loose lead. He really struggled with this as there were many dog and people distractions outside. The trainer put maverick in a drop and let him take in the environment and settle before continuing. This worked really well for maverick as it provided an opportunity for him to relax within the stimulating environment. Once he was settled, she released him and increased the markers when he was engaged with her during the walk. Well done buddy!||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: The focus for this session was sending Maverick to place from a distance. On top of this, we completed this outside with dog and people distractions. Maverick struggled to focus but with repetition by the end of the session he was responding to the cue from 1 metre away. This was really tough for him but his focus and engagement improved||Focus: Distance||B|
|Skill learnt: Recall||Comment: To work on recall there must be good engagement with their name. The first session focused on building that engagement and the send session focused on listening and following through with commands from a distance. Within the distracting environment the trainer was unable to successfully work on full recalls so started with redirecting his focus back to the trainer with spin. With spin they are lured away from the trainer, toward a stimuli and back around to the trainer. The trainer was very impressed with his focus this session and he performed this skill really well with the distractions.||Focus: Foundation||B+|
