Mav was a bit distracted at the start of the day but got better and better as the day progressed. Well done Mav!
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For his first session we worked on Mav's loose lead outside with some emergency drops. Mav didn't have great focus for the first half of the session and often pulled to go sniff trees and grass. We started asking for some drops to help regain his focus - Mav was much quicker on his drops today which is excellent progress! After doing this for a while he did start engaging more with the trainer. He did get very distracted by another dog walking nearby and did break his drop a few times so this should be a focus for next time. At home keep working on focus during walks and use extra skills such as spins and drops to regain engagement.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his second session we worked on a few of Mav's tricks. He was OK at touch but did keep trying to eat the wand. Because of this we changed to the hanky/tug skill so that he could bite. He did quite well at this skill and was able to give decent tugs on the hanky. Next time we'd like to work on having him do consecutive tugs - at home encourage him to do multiple tugs with a similar toy.||Focus: Repetition||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For his final session we worked on Mav's place skill and getting him to do place on different objects. Mav did really well at this and seemed to understand the boundaries really well. He was able to place on both a yoga mat and a folded backdrop sheet. Next time we'd like to continue exposing him to place on different surfaces and objects to help generalise this skill. At home, use different items to practice his place on!||Focus: Repetition||B+|
