It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: To begin Mav’s day, he practiced his ‘drop’ skill during some loose lead walking in the classroom, with dog distractions. At first he did well with 1 other dog, but when another dog was brought out, he got quite distracted and would take longer to drop. With the use of his non-reward marker “ah ah”, he would drop a little quicker, but could still use some work. Keep on practicing his drops at home with distractions! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Next up, Mav practiced his ‘recall’ skill, outside on a long line. He did pretty good! He came when he was called, he just had a bit of a habit of continuing to run past the trainer, rather than stopping in front of them in a sit. The trainer worked on getting him to stop, with the help of a treat lure. He responded well to this and would remain there until released. Keep practicing his recalls at home, go back to the basics of a lure if needed to re-jog his memory on it. Good work, Mav! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: To finish off, Mav worked on his ‘loose lead’ walking outside, alongside another shepherd. At first he was quite distracted, but after a few minutes he settled himself down and showed good engagement with the trainer. There were a few times in the session where he got distracted by things amongst the rocks, but with the use of his non-reward marker “ah ah”, he refocused. Keep on working his loose lead with other dogs, it tests him and we want for him to have 100% engagement the whole time! Lovely work today, Mav. Focus: Distraction B
